Zang Wei (Jang Wei) also known as the Bow God was originally one of the Five Martial Gods of Cheonghwado before eventually revealing his true identity as a mercenary for Red Dragon hired to infiltrate the rival clan as a spy and future advantage against the clan during its eventual war against Red Dragon.

Physical Appearance[]

Zang Wei was described to be racially Asian. During his time within Cheonghwado's Five Martial God, Zang Wei was stated to always wear a hooded poncho/cloak and rarely showed his face.

After his fight against Phante in Elohim's Sub-space, Peals of the Great, Zang Wei was stated to have lost his left eye.

Personality[]

Zang Wei's usually demeanor is that of a quiet, stoic, analytical, calm and intelligent schemer type. Having been seen to mainly keep to himself during the meetings between the Five Martial Gods and only speak when spoken to.

However underneath his usually calm demeanor, Zang Wei is shown to be a highly amoral mercenary that has no loyalties but to himself. This is seen during the final stages in the war between Red Dragon and Cheonghwado where he betrayed Sword and Spear Gods with little to no hesitation and later revealed that he had entered into the Clan under orders from Red Dragon from the beginning and despite everything he did under the clan and working together with the other Martial Gods, Zang Wei had not developed the slightest bit of sentiment or attachment to them and had no qualms of betraying them for momentary value offered by Red Dragon.

Later after the war's conclusion he soon came to work under Red Dragon once again and implied that he did not possess any form of loyalty to the Summer Queen or her clan whatsoever and simply agreed to her request to look into Bahal death due to it aligning with his current desires.

Later it was further revealed that Zang Wei possessed strong adrenaline seeking tendencies and contradicting desires of wanting to fight against strong and powerful opponents and being chased down and brought to near death by them. This is seen in his relationship with Cha Yeon-woo, where he quickly developed a fixation with him due to his stoic dead panned demeanor and cold blooded apathy to killing others combined with his immense strength even before entering the Tower. When he killed his own sister, who was dating Yeon-woo at the time, Zang showed perverse pleasure at seeing his reaction and being chased down by him to avenge her.

The Bow God has also shown to have a deep craving for battle and enjoys things the most when something "fun" happens, this is seen where he willingly enters into dangerous situations and purposefully makes powerful people despise and hate him in order to make them hunt him down in order to get an adrenaline rush from being hunted. This is notably seen where he purposefully made a enemy of the One-Horned Tribe after killing Yanu and then purposefully getting them to pursue him by further antagonizing them by killing and taunting the squad sent after him. Therefore purposefully making himself a target for the Martial King himself and leading to the powerful king to hunt him down personally, during of which Zang Wei actively reveled at the rush of being pursued by such a powerful opponent. This habit could also be best seen in his relationship with Cha Yeon-woo and him developing a unhealthy obsession with even before coming to the Obelisk.

History[]

Background[]

Both Zang Wei and Yeon-Woo were part of the same squad in the military during their time in Africa. Upon first meeting Yeon-woo, who was placed as the squad leader for his unit in a multinational military program, Zang had apparently take an interest in him due to his strength and apparent lack of emotion to anyone or anything. Yeon-Woo had also dated his older sister for some time, but they broke up eventually.

During their time touring Africa, Zang Wei had also been the one ultimately responsible for abandoning Yeon-woo in the middle of a war torn battlefield under the pre-text of following orders. Dealing a deep mental blow on to Yeon-woo's psyche and nearly causing him to shoot him in revenge when he managed to survive the ordeal and make his way back to base.

Later in an unknown time had passed, Yeon-woo would then begin to plot and initiate his revenge against Zang Wei and everyone involved in his abandonment in the middle of a war torn battle field alone. However at around Christmas 2017, Zang Wei, still "interested" in Yeon-woo's true "face", Zang Wei had apparently killed his own sister in order to elicit any form of emotional reaction from Yeon-woo to see if he had any emotions at all. This in turn only doubled and intensified Yeon-woo hatred for Zang Wei, wanting to make him suffer as he suffered, Yeon-woo proceeded to then somehow abandon Zang Wei in the middle of a desert with no food, water to any other provisions in order to get him to experience the same kind of hell he went through. Before leaving him for dead, Zang Wei attempted to plead Yeon-woo not to leave him there to die only for him to hatefully rebuke him and left behind a single gun cartage with the date, 12. 25. 2017 (the date the he had presumably killed his sister) carved into it.

However, Zang Wei would later escape and was somehow contacted by the God,Hou Yi and invited to the Obelisk, escaping the desert with his life and leaving earth behind. Thus causing Yeon-woo to assume that he had indeed perished in that desert.

Sensing that they were "similar", Hou Yi had likely invited Zang Wei to enter the two for the expressed purpose of making him his Apostle. During his time within the Tower, Zang Wei would soon become a well known as a powerful Mercenary within the Obelisk and successfully build up his strength and was soon accepted as Hou Yi's Apostle as the God had hoped.

During this time, he would soon be hired by Red Dragon to perform a long term infiltration assignment, where he would join Cheonghwado and work his way up their ranks in order to act as Red Dragon's spy on their activities. Eventually Zang would successfully rise through Cheonghwado's ranks and was eventually given one of its Martial Gods seats and take on the title, "Bow God".

During his time as the "Bow God", Zang Wei would robotically follow orders given to him by both Sword God and the Summer Queen and became bored with his positions in both Cheonghwado and Red Dragon. However this all changed upon the appearance of Arthia and Cha Jeong-woo.

Seeing Jeong-woo having the exact same physical appearance as his beloved "Captain", Zang Wei developed a level of unhealthy interest towards him and wondered if he and Yeon-woo were related. Eventually during the War against Arthia, Zang Wei whole heartedly joined the battled due to him wanting to fight Jeong-woo.

Abilities & Skills[]

As seen during the final battle between the Summer Queen against the Sword God, Spear God and himself, The Bow God possess extreme power and easily ranks as a High Ranker within the Tower's Hierarchy. He was capable of holding his ground against the Summer Queen and later proved to be strong enough to fight off both the Sword God and Spear God after his treachery was revealed and managed to forced them to retreat by teaming up with the Queen.

Later he was shown to be indeed superior to the other low level rankers to the Tower when he battled and easily overpowered Yanu of the One-Horned Tribe, who had the strength of a Semi-Ranker and later he was able to fight off and slaughter the squad sent by the One-Horned Tribe with ease despite having two of its members being High Rankers. The Bow God was also revealed to be an Apostle for the God Hou Yi which likely explains his superior power to even fellow High Rankers.

His strength and abilities were further proven to be formidable when the Summer Queen herself personally invited him to join Red Dragon and offered to make him one of the 81 Eyes immediately. Later when he rejected her offer, the Summer Queen herself personally thought about forcing Zang Wei to join as a member against his will due to deeming his strength to be too valuable to lose. However due to her weakened state, the Queen was unable to force him to join her.

Later he was shown to be powerful enough to hold off and stand his ground against the One-Horned Tribe's most powerful Martial King Nayu and escape with his life. Further emphasizing his skill and power.

Zang Wei would later be abandoned by Hou Yi after he deemed him no longer useful. Causing him to lose his status as his Apostle and lose access to all of the Powers and Blessings granted to him by Hou Yi.

Later upon entering into the Tower, this talent greatly helped him survive its trials and evolve his power due to his ability of being able to unconsciously sense when someone or something was dangerous to him was near and saved him numerous times during his time within the Obelisk and helped him rise to his current status as a Upper High Ranker.

  • Four Directional Bow: (Formerly) The Divine Artifact given to him by Hou Yi after becoming his Apostle, that presumably grants him a massive power boost and access to even more power as it serves as a direct line to his Patron God and his divine weapon.
